Get Creative: School Holiday Professional Learning with the History Trust

A fun day of creative, hands-on professional learning where you’ll explore museums, write poetry and cross-stitch with colleagues.

Based at the Migration Museum and Centre of Democracy, this half-day workshop is for Primary teachers, Secondary English, History or Art teachers, and anyone that wants to have some creative fun with colleagues.

You will tour the Migration Museum and Centre of Democracy and learn about education programs offered there, then take part in a poetry workshop with Poetry Takeover Ambassador Manal Younus. After a break you will come back to a hand-on cross-stitch workshop with Centre of Democracy Manager, Nikki Sullivan. Here you will learn about the craftivism project, Stitch + Resist. Work on your own project to submit or take the concept of craftivism back to the classroom for an engaging cross-curricular activity with impact.

You will have opportunities to ask questions and connect with colleagues through the day, and you will be provided with a certificate for your PD records.
