Time Of The Twin display

On Now

Before the Second World War, most European motorcycle manufacturers built single cylinder motorcycles for solo riders with occasional V-Twins for heavier duty such as sidecar haulage. After the war, though, British manufacturers started building twin cylinder motorcycles with the pistons moving up and down in cylinders parallel to one another – parallel twins. Triumph’s ‘Speed Twin’, first introduced in 1937, can be seen as the grandfather of a long line of twins which are still built by Triumph today.
