EVENTS

Japanese language teachers and anyone who is learning about Japan as part of their Asia literacy strategy, please take note of the program "Engaging with Japan". It will provide opportunities for students to engage with Japanese culture, art and immigration history.

"Destitute!" - a look at women and poverty in Colonial Adelaide from the perspective of a young Irish woman in the Destitute Asylum (now the buildings of the Migration Museum) played by acclaimed Adelaide actor, Emily Branford. This performance was our Come Out 11 offering and if you attended it you will know why we have been requested to bring it back.

"When Smalls were Large" - looks at women's history in the 19th, 20th and 21st Centuries through costume - particularly underwear. The program also deals with body image and how social, historical and political forces affect how we look and behave. This 'white gloves' workshop will only run for a week so please book early if you are interested in bringing your students.
