Background on the Museum

Preservation, interpretation and celebration of our heritage and culture underpin the work of the Migration Museum. Among the core values of the Museum are social inclusion, countering racism, and life long learning. Here history can be explored in ways that connect with contemporary issues.

Since opening in 1986 the Museum staff have collaborated with representatives from over 100 different cultural and community groups to develop exhibitions and special programs that tell the story of multicultural life in South Australia.
