School Holidays At The SA Maritime Museum

Kids are invited to join the Pirate School at the South Australian Maritime Museum these holidays.

Pirate pupils will learn how to make:

·         Pirate flags

·         Toy telescopes

·         Pirate maps

·         Treasure Chests

·         or Eye patches

Activities will change daily and the Pirate School will be open from Monday 9 to Friday 13 and Monday 16 to Friday 20 July 2007.

Free with museum entry, group bookings required, phone the museum for more details.
 

PORT RIVER CRUISES

Dolphin Seeking Cruises - Climb on board the historic police launch Archie Badenoch for a tour of the Port River to see the working port, the natural environment and to spot the resident pod of dolphins. As well as seeing the dolphins, the vessel’s hydrophone enables you to hear the dolphin’s clicks and whistles as they navigate the river.

Cruises cost $5 per person and bookings are essential. Phone the museum for more details & times.

EXHIBITION

The Adelaide Steamship Company: Australia’s Largest Line Until 19th August 2007

This exhibition looks at the history of the Adelaide Steamship Company (ASC) and its impact on Australian shipping, business and history. ASC was one of Australia’s most important and successful companies which had a major impact on Australian history through a period of great technological and societal change (1875 to 1975) as well as one of Australia’s greatest enterprises is also a uniquely South Australian story. 

What    School Holidays at the South Australian Maritime Museum            

When   School Holidays, Saturday 7th – Sunday 22nd July 2007. 10am to 5pm everyday

Cost     Activities are free with museum entry and cruises are an additional $5 per person. Museum entry: $8.50 adults, $6.50 concession, $3.50 children, $22.00 family

The South Australian Maritime Museum is located at 126 Lipson Street, Port Adelaide and isopen 10am to 5pm every day (except Christmas Day). For further information contact the museum on 8207 6255
