EXHIBITIONS
Velocity: Built For Speed – Until October 2007
In a relatively short period of time, cars and motorcycles have become essential
tools for many of us. However, some vehicles do more than simply transport us
from place to place, they have a power and a beauty which captures the
imagination. This exhibition looks at cars and bikes that are designed to go
fast – e.g. 1990 Streamliner land speed racer, 1970 Lamborghini, Torana A9X;
1971 Chrysler Valiant Charger; 1972 Kawasaki Z1A 900; 1916 Indian motorcycle.
The Jazz Age - Until November 2007
Learn about
the decadent American lifestyle of the 1920s and early 1930s through the cars of
the period. This exhibition delves into the age that takes its name from jazz
music which was very popular at the time. It was a time where those who could
afford it embraced new technologies such as cars, air travel and telephones.
Vehicles on display include a 1933 Pierce-Arrow Club Brougham, 1925 Cadillac V63
Tourer and a 1927 Erskine Roadster.
