Program includes:
- Tour Adelaide’s working container terminal and be part of the action as giant cranes load containers onto ships and straddle drivers make sure the cargo is kept in order.
- Explore the workings of the Outer Harbor signal tower to find out how shipping traffic is monitored as it makes its way in and out of the harbor.
- Develop an understanding of import and export commodities, trading partnerships, custom procedures, systems and processes used in the shipping industry and the impact of shipping on the lives of all South Australians.
- Travel back in time at the South Australian Maritime Museum and explore the world of shipping in times gone by.
Venue:
Program begins at the Outer Harbor Passenger Terminal and moves onto the DP World Container Terminal and the South Australian Maritime Museum.
Travel:
Schools will need to provide a bus to be available throughout the day.
