Nautical Instruments

From a desire to travel unknown waters and conquer unknown worlds evolved the art of navigation and the genius of nautical instruments. Mathematics, astrology, patience and luck are all a part of this, the foundation of all maritime travel. Beautiful and exact sextants, compasses, parallel rules and charts form one of the great strengths of the Museum’s collection.
